I mentioned yesterday how Sarko (that's how our president Sarkozy is called in France) sacked a prefet (the rep of the government in a shire, who has full accountability for the police and the security in its department or shire) because there were too many whistles against him during a meeting in Saint Lo. Today the Elysee sacked another responsible person of the departmental police. This is even more worrying that this local police was recently recognised for its particular high efficiency in tackling issues and solving problems.
Safety issues? No, just Sarko received lots of whitsles from people who are demonstrating against his policy. I can't even understand how Sarko could pay attention to things like that, does he really have the time to bother with such little things? Why does he sack people who are performing well in their position? Jsut because he got irritated that so many people are against his way of doing and his way of being. This president seems incapable to understand the status of his position and uses his job to act like a "little chief " who wants to demonstrate to everyone he has the power. That is clearly not what we expected when voting for him, France was after and inspirational leader who would put France back on track, not a little boy thinking France, the police and everyone around him are his toys.
This is a pity that Sarko seems to believe that being president was an achievement and not the begining of a story that would make him a great man. That is clearly not what France expected two years ago.
